CURRICULUM AND MATERIALS SELECTION AND REFINEMENT
Our curriculum and materials selection is a combination of unplugged and plugged activities from various CS resources. We looked into published CS programs, but soon realized it wasn't a "good fit" for the goals and the variety of physical computing devices we wanted our students to explore. From our extensive research, we compiled a CS Scope and Sequence for each grade that aligned to the CSTA Standards and student development.

This will be a fluid document as students' skills progress at earlier ages. Soon students will be entering the next grade level with more CS foundational skills because of the number of prior experiences.

Below, you will find a taste of each of our grades weekly CS Scope and Sequences.
ALIGNMENT TO IOWA CSTA STANDARDS
We included our CSTA Standard Alignment into our CS Scope and Sequence document to ensure all activities were aligned to a standard. We also created a spreadsheet to identify if we had any "gaps" where a standard was not being covered.
