MONITORING AND EVALUATION PLAN

Currently, we have been keeping an ongoing journal to reflect on CS weekly lessons.  We record lessons/concepts that are working as well as areas of concern that need improvement for future implementation.  We have also created exit ticket assessments for many of our CS lessons to determine mastery level of our students.  These assessments are a combination of unplugged and plugged.  Tech tools used for plugged assessments include Flipgrid, Seesaw, and Kahoot.

We are working on developing an evaluation tool for students and teachers that is purposeful and gives appropriate data for decision making.

This evaluation tool will include a pre and post computer science survey for students and teachers to take annually beginning in the Fall of 2022.  Our goal is to use the data from this evaluation to find gaps, areas of strength, and areas of weakness in our computer science curriculum.  We need to determine what is going well in our district and what we need to continue to develop as we strive to create a thorough comprehensive computer science curriculum where the CSTA standards are either covered in our CS Standalone class and/or integrated into existing core curricular content.
