Wow!
Just when I thought it couldn't get much better, it did! The 2nd Annual Hour of Code Event was awesome!
The Hour of Code is the largest learning event in history and was celebrated globally December 5th - 9th.
A huge shout out to our elementary principal - Mr. Davidson for giving me the green light to organize the event and even a bigger shout out to our amazing elementary teachers who signed up for their hour slot immediately after I sent out the Google Doc!
It's hard to bottle the "true" magic of celebrating the Hour of Code in classrooms without capturing live video, but I managed to take a few snap shots as I was interacting with students.

3rd & 4th Grade Star Wars/Frozen Chromebooks
5th & 6th Grade SPRK Lightning Lab Chromebooks
My Hour of Code enthusiasm even rubbed off on our Middle School Social Studies teacher - Mr. Hoffman - who teaches a Computer Hex 7th Grade Exploratory Class. We created a student Workspace in Hapara where students could not only learn about computer science but be fully emerged in the coding experience.
Here is a glimpse of our Hapara Coding Workspace.
Witnessing the Hour of Code in each classroom was powerful, but the "after it was over" was even greater. Students were talking about the Hour of Code, sharing their experiences, asking their teachers to continue with coding in their math stations, writing emails of "thanks" to their teachers for letting them experience the Hour of Code, putting Sphero balls on their Xmas list, and giving me hugs (best part of my day ever)!
Thanks PAC EL staff! You definitely helped me facilitate one of the Best Weeks Ever!
